Youth Volleyball Coach & Player Clinic and GROWL Auction --
On Saturday, March 8th, OHS Volleyball will sponsor a youth volleyball coach and player clinic. Our target audience for the 12:15 - 2:15pm clinic is anyone interested in coaching youth volleyball, especially YMCA coaches preparing for the upcoming spring season. Participants from that clinic are welcome to stay for the player session, which runs from 2:30 - 4:30. We'll be working with players in grades 2nd - 6th.

Please share this information (forward the Coaching Clinic flyer and Players Clinic flyer freely!) with those you know who may be interested.

Also, the GROWL Auction is scheduled for April 26th and our own Coach Laurie Crieghton is being recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Along with individual recognition, five of the fifteen state championship teams Olympia HS has had will also be recognized.  They are: 1929 Boys Basketball, 1984 Football, 1996 & 98 Girls Golf and the 1998 Volleyball team.

Tickets for the dinner/auction are $25 before April 18th or $30 at the door. There is a dinner reservation form for reserving your place on the GROWL website. When completing the reservation form please note in the comment section that you are affiliated with the Volleyball program.  Each sport program gets a portion of the proceeds depending on the amount of their program's participation.

No One Fights Alone --
Starting October 7th, the Olympia Volleyball Program will be sponsoring Cancer Awareness Week - No One Fights Alone.

Because more than 1 million people in the United States are diagnosed with cancer each year…chances are you or someone close to you has it, has beaten it, or, lost a battle to it. When Todd McDougall, an esteemed OHS coach and faculty member, succumbed to brain cancer this summer, we were moved to expand our annual event beyond support for the fight against a single type of cancer.

You can participate by purchasing a colored shirt - which represents a cancer that has affected you - to wear during the week, to our Oct. 8th home match against Central Kitsap and/or the Capitol City Invitational, on Oct. 12th. Donations will be accepted throughout the week - at school, in the community, and at the Oct. 8th match & Oct. 12th tournament. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. Donations on Oct. 8th will earn you a spot in a serving contest. And, on Oct. 12th, at the Capitol City Tournament, an AWESOME raffle will be held.

We are inviting your participation in this event and encourage you to read the attached flyer for details on how to go on-line to order your shirt and be a part of the fight against cancer (see sample of shirt--front on left, back on the right).
Sample of shirt (front on left, back on the right)...

Be aware...the on-line order window closes at midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 1st!!

Please join us by showing your support during the week of October 7th. We hope to see you at OHS on the 8th or the 12th!
